Language and Skills Training

Objective

To assist and support immigrants by offering full-time, part-time, and evening language classes to empower and encourage them to integrate into Canadian society.

Our language program is designed to help newcomers learn about the many different aspects of living and working in Canada by developing their listening, speaking, reading and writing skills.

Language Instruction for Newcomers to Canada (LINC) classes

Free English classes are offered at different level: Pre-CLB (literacy) to CLB 6

Services (CNC) and transportation subsidies are available for eligible students.

These services are available for enrolment year-round.

LINC certificate can be obtained for Canadian citizenship purposes once a student attends CLB 4 or above classes for a certain amount of time.

Eligibility

Services are available to landed immigrants and convention refugees and

Students must be at least 18 years old.

Support Services

Care for Newcomer Children (CNC) and transportation assistance are available to eligible LINC students.

CNC is available at TCCSA York Centre for children ages 19 months to 6 years old.
