“Healthy Food Basket of Connection”

The Cross-Cultural Community Services Association (TCCAS) held a virtual press conference on Tuesday, August 4th, 2020.

During the conference, Nelson Cheng, the President of TCCSA was delighted to announce the “Healthy Food Basket of Connection” Project, which is funded by Government of Canada – the Emergency Community Support Fund through United Way of Greater Toronto.  Also, TCCSA is fortunate to support the community by collaborating with different community partners.

Scott Au, 1st Vice President, Kei Leung, 2nd Vice President and Jennifer Shen, 3rd Vice President shared the highlights of this project with the media and the Board Members who attended the press conference.  They were Emily Cheng, Board Secretary and Board Members, Nick Cai, Andy Cheung, Kenny Tsui and Dr. Yingya Wu.

TCCSA is committed to prepare 600 food baskets with healthy and nutritious groceries to be delivered to vulnerable clients at no cost over 6 weeks from August 10 to September 18, 2020. The eligible recipients would receive the healthy baskets by contactless delivery to their doorsteps.

On August 6, 2020, TCCSA – President of Board, Nelson Cheng, Executive Director, Janice Tsoi and Program Director, Maria Wong received personal appreciations from Scarborough-Agincourt MP Jean Yip, MPP Aris Bakikian and Toronto City Councillor Jim Karygiannis for delivering the healthy food baskets at no cost to the eligible lower-income recipients, with the age of over 65, as well as anyone who is having any underlying medical conditions.
